Background of the Study
Digital learning has emerged as a significant educational innovation, providing students with access to a wide range of resources and instructional tools online. In rural areas, where educational resources are often limited, digital learning can play a crucial role in bridging educational gaps. Through online courses, e-books, multimedia content, and virtual classrooms, students in rural schools can gain access to high-quality educational materials that they might otherwise not have.
In Offa Local Government Area, Kwara State, many secondary schools are located in rural areas where access to resources such as textbooks, qualified teachers, and advanced learning materials is limited. Digital learning platforms offer an alternative solution by providing a wealth of educational content that can be accessed remotely, overcoming geographical and logistical barriers.
Despite its potential, the role of digital learning in bridging educational gaps in rural secondary schools is not well-documented in the Nigerian context. This study will evaluate how digital learning tools can contribute to reducing educational inequalities and improving academic outcomes for students in Offa Local Government Area.
